Tobacco squonk mod IQOS in Nouméa: the price shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Tobacco in Nouméa: 9 units tested over 7 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with tobacco in New Caledonia
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The honest read on tobacco: 9 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested tobacco in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF51 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.42 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.42 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF51 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.42 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
