Tobacco in Nouméa: 15 units tested over 3 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tobacco habit
A tobacco squonk mod from the online options in New Caledonia costs about XPF3.25 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.25 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested tobacco in a squonk mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF36 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.25 per 10 ml.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
