Sour box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with sour in New Caledonia
Sour in Nouméa reaches the shelf in box mod formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
We run sour the same way in Nouméa: same box mod, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a sour box mod really costs in Nouméa
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested sour in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where sour goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.

Frequently asked questions
How long does sour in a box mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 9 to 14 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On sour the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF1.97 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
