Sour in Nouméa: 13 units tested over 9 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What sour costs in Nouméa
We run sour the same way in Nouméa: same 30 ml shortfill, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 13 units, 30 ml shortfill, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour 30 ml shortfill really costs in Nouméa
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested sour in a 30 ml shortfill
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for 30 ml shortfill in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where sour goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.

Frequently asked questions
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
How much does a 30 ml shortfill cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.14 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF28 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On sour the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.14 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
