Salted prefilled pod IQOS in Nouméa: the price shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Salted in Nouméa: 17 units tested over 6 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the salted habit
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.64 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a salted prefilled pod really costs in Nouméa
Salted in Nouméa reaches the shelf in prefilled pod formats, and the value ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested salted in a prefilled pod
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where salted goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF34 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.64 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Mixing salted with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for salted in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
