Salted pod kit IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Salted in Nouméa: 20 units tested over 3 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the salted habit
A salted pod kit from the budget options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.73 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Salted in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long salted tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a salted pod kit really costs in Nouméa
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.73 per 10 ml.
How we tested salted in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where salted goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long salted in Nouméa survives.
