Plain in Nouméa: 13 units tested over 5 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What plain costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Plain in Nouméa reaches the shelf in mesh tank formats, and the compared ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
The short version: plain in Nouméa works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain mesh tank really costs in Nouméa
Plain mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 13 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested plain in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to New Caledonia need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Is plain legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.92 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
