Lime box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist
Lime in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What lime costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Lime prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.77 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long lime tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a lime box mod really costs in Nouméa
Lime in Nouméa reaches the shelf in box mod formats, and the compared ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested lime in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where lime goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why lime tastes flat after two days.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long lime in Nouméa survives.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF1.77 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF64 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does lime taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the lime blend itself harsh.
