Licorice squonk mod IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Licorice in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the licorice habit
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.92 per 10 ml.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a licorice squonk mod really costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested licorice in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every licorice bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
How long does licorice in a squonk mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 4 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
