The short version: caramel in Nouméa works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel RDA really costs in Nouméa
The honest read on caramel: 11 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested caramel in a RDA
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest RDA available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for caramel in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Not automatically. On caramel the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.49 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
