Caramel RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Caramel in Nouméa: 10 units tested over 5 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the caramel habit
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.58 per 10 ml.
The short version: caramel in Nouméa works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel RDA really costs in Nouméa
Caramel in Nouméa reaches the shelf in RDA formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested caramel in a RDA
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised XPF62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.58 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
How long does caramel in a RDA last?
In Nouméa we measured 5 to 10 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On caramel the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.58 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
