Tropical starter kit IQOS in Nouméa: the guide shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Tropical in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What tropical costs in Nouméa
If you are looking at tropical in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Tropical in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: tropical in Nouméa works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tropical starter kit really costs in Nouméa
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested tropical in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a tropical bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for tropical in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tropical the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.48 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
Is tropical legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
