Tobacco refill pack IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Tobacco in Nouméa: 22 units tested over 9 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with tobacco in New Caledonia
The honest read on tobacco: 22 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
We run tobacco the same way in Nouméa: same refill pack, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: tobacco in Nouméa works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco refill pack really costs in Nouméa
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.78 per 10 ml.
How we tested tobacco in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
