Tobacco RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the online shortlist
Tobacco in Nouméa: 22 units tested over 5 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How to tell a good RDA from a repack
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
We run tobacco the same way in Nouméa: same RDA, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: tobacco in Nouméa works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco RDA really costs in Nouméa
The honest read on tobacco: 22 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested tobacco in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does tobacco in a RDA last?
In Nouméa we measured 5 to 22 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
How much does a RDA cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.28 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF38 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
