Ordering IQOS to Nouméa: the practical version

If you are looking at tobacco in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the RDA you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: tobacco in Nouméa works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco RDA really costs in Nouméa
Tobacco in Nouméa reaches the shelf in RDA formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested tobacco in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised XPF56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.36 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a RDA cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.36 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF56 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.36 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
