Tobacco box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the review shortlist
Tobacco in Nouméa: 10 units tested over 7 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tobacco habit
If you are looking at tobacco in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: tobacco in Nouméa works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco box mod really costs in Nouméa
Tobacco in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested tobacco in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tobacco the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF1.63 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF1.63 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should tobacco start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
