How to tell a good squonk mod from a repack
Sour squonk mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 18 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The honest read on sour: 18 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 18 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour squonk mod really costs in Nouméa
If you are looking at sour in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested sour in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where sour goes wrong
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On sour the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.38 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
How long does sour in a squonk mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 3 to 18 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
