Salted starter kit IQOS in Nouméa: the online shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Salted in Nouméa: 21 units tested over 2 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Salted is allowed to say
A salted starter kit from the online options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.53 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: salted in Nouméa works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted starter kit really costs in Nouméa
Salted starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested salted in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where salted goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
Is salted legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
