Salted starter kit IQOS in Nouméa: the best shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Salted in Nouméa: 13 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Delivery, returns and what 6–12 business days really means
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Salted prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.58 per 10 ml.
The short version: salted in Nouméa works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted starter kit really costs in Nouméa
Salted in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested salted in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where salted goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Treating the advertised XPF67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.58 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to New Caledonia?
Yes, tracked to 6–12 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How long does salted in a starter kit last?
In Nouméa we measured 7 to 13 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
