Plum sub-ohm kit IQOS in Nouméa: the best shortlist
Plum in Nouméa: 17 units tested over 6 weeks, sub-ohm kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the plum habit
Plum sounds like one product. It is not: a sub-ohm kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run plum the same way in Nouméa: same sub-ohm kit, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the sub-ohm kit you buy decides how long plum tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plum sub-ohm kit really costs in Nouméa
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested plum in a sub-ohm kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a sub-ohm kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the sub-ohm kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where plum goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a sub-ohm kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plum tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a sub-ohm kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for plum in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a sub-ohm kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.45 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF50 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the sub-ohm kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
Is plum legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
