Plain squonk mod IQOS in Nouméa: the guide shortlist
Plain in Nouméa: 17 units tested over 9 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Plain squonk mod here
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.31 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at plain in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain squonk mod really costs in Nouméa
A plain squonk mod from the starter options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.31 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested plain in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where plain goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for plain in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is plain legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
How long does plain in a squonk mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 9 to 17 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
