Plain squonk mod IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Plain in Nouméa: 17 units tested over 6 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the plain habit
We run plain the same way in Nouméa: same squonk mod, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain squonk mod really costs in Nouméa
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested plain in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where plain goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised XPF64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.52 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.52 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.52 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF64 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
