How to tell a good pod kit from a repack
A plain pod kit from the pre-order options in New Caledonia costs about XPF1.95 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 22 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a plain pod kit really costs in Nouméa
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.95 per 10 ml.
How we tested plain in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where plain goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.95 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
