Plain in Nouméa: 9 units tested over 8 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
A plain mesh tank from the online options in New Caledonia costs about XPF1.74 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: plain in Nouméa works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain mesh tank really costs in Nouméa
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.74 per 10 ml.
How we tested plain in a mesh tank
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
