Plain mesh tank IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Plain in Nouméa: 23 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Plain is allowed to say
We run plain the same way in Nouméa: same mesh tank, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plain in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain mesh tank really costs in Nouméa
Plain in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested plain in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where plain goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plain tastes flat after two days.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in Nouméa survives.
- Treating the advertised XPF32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.74 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here

How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.74 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF32 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.74 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
