Mint pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Mint in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the mint habit
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Mint in Nouméa reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long mint tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested mint in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where mint goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF50 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.16 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
