Melon zero-nicotine bottle IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Melon in Nouméa: 11 units tested over 8 weeks, zero-nicotine bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Melon zero-nicotine bottle here
The honest read on melon: 11 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: melon in Nouméa works if the zero-nicotine bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a melon zero-nicotine bottle really costs in Nouméa
We run melon the same way in Nouméa: same zero-nicotine bottle, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested melon in a zero-nicotine bottle
- Pick the zero-nicotine bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a melon bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where melon goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a zero-nicotine bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Treating the advertised XPF62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.04 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How long does melon in a zero-nicotine bottle last?
In Nouméa we measured 8 to 11 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a zero-nicotine bottle.
How much does a zero-nicotine bottle cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.04 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF62 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
