Melon pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the guide shortlist
Melon in Nouméa: 21 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with melon in New Caledonia
Melon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.31 per 10 ml.
We run melon the same way in Nouméa: same pen device, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: melon in Nouméa works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a melon pen device really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested melon in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a melon bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where melon goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
