Fig cartomizer IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist
Fig in Nouméa: 20 units tested over 9 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Fig is allowed to say
Fig prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.7 per 10 ml.
We run fig the same way in Nouméa: same cartomizer, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long fig tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a fig cartomizer really costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested fig in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for cartomizer in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a fig bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where fig goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why fig tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a cartomizer that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for fig in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
