Coffee refill pack IQOS in Nouméa: the review shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Coffee in Nouméa: 6 units tested over 4 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What coffee costs in Nouméa
Coffee prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.47 per 10 ml.
We run coffee the same way in Nouméa: same refill pack, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: coffee in Nouméa works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coffee refill pack really costs in Nouméa
A coffee refill pack from the reviewed options in New Caledonia costs about XPF3.47 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested coffee in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every coffee bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a coffee bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Packaging for coffee in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.47 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF49 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does coffee in a refill pack last?
In Nouméa we measured 4 to 6 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
