Where buyers go wrong with coffee in New Caledonia
Coffee in Nouméa reaches the shelf in refill pack formats, and the best ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Coffee sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The short version: coffee in Nouméa works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coffee refill pack really costs in Nouméa
Coffee sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested coffee in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 18 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a coffee bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing coffee with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to New Caledonia?
Yes, tracked to 6–12 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.55 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF40 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does coffee taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the coffee blend itself harsh.
