Coffee pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the order shortlist — Frenchpolynesiaiqos
Coffee in Nouméa: 22 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Choosing a pen device for coffee
Coffee pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 22 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Coffee in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long coffee tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a coffee pen device really costs in Nouméa
If you are looking at coffee in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested coffee in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why coffee tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised XPF41 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.84 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Is coffee legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-language labelling at customs clearance.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On coffee the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.84 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does coffee taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the coffee blend itself harsh.
