Coil life, liquid cost and the caramel habit
Caramel pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Below is the run we did for this search: 21 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a caramel pen device really costs in Nouméa
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.54 per 10 ml.
How we tested caramel in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised XPF30 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.54 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
